We would like to point out that Wix offers to create flash websites. This is what you need if you would like to create a business card website, promo website or a flash gallery. Weebly on the other hand suggests the classic HTML.
Now, let's have a look at the main features of those website builders.
Wix limits the disk space to 500Mb and doesn't allow to park a domain within the free package of services. Weebly doesn't have such limitations however.
Speaking about templates for your website, Wix treats this issue more seriously than Weebly. Nice-looking designs are provided by Wix.
Weebly on the other hand provides unlimited bandwidth for free. And Wix charges $14.90 per month for that in the meantime.
You will be able to create a Blog with Weebly, but not with Wix.
Would you like to have a File Catalog, Site catalog or a Publisher? Stop thinking about this right now. Neither of the website builders will offer you this.
Both of the companies charge for the Statistics.
Of course, the chance to use widgets as well as the Photo Album with comments is an advantage for both website builders.
E-shop can be created with Wix only after buying a package of services that costs $16.17 per month. But you can do it for free with Weebly.
Most probably, the developers of both companies have decided that Search is not of a big importance. So it is not provided by the website builders.
Advertisement can be removed from the pages only as the additional paid service with Wix. Support service is not for free too. Weebly however provides support services for free and do not overload your pages with their advertisement.
You will find pretty poor functions behind the nice wrapping of Wix. You will not be able to create a Blog or a File Catalog even after paying for a package of services.
Weebly however happens to have more advantages, but it is not good enough to be called “the best”!
